You may know from reading some of my previous posts that in addition to officiating, I coach my daughters 3rd grade "travel" team. For those that don't, it's the first year the girls can play at a more competitive level that is technically the feeder program up through JrHs into HS. Most of the guys that ref my games are guys I've worked with at one time or another so we have fun when I'm in the box.

We've been playing about .500 ball all year. It's fun and frustrating all at the same time.

Last night we were playing a cross city "rival" community team.

One of my better players was bringing the ball down and had beat her girl with the dribble....she picked up her dribble, took to steps then went into a huge jumpstop. Clear travel....and it got called.

Stupid coach yelled "That's not a travel...that's a CRAB DRIBBLE!!!!" Oh wait, that coach was ME!
