Technically, I'm not a "Portlander" since I live in the suburbs. In fact, around here, we refer to that city as "The People's Republic of Portland". I think it's a reference to the extreme liberalism that exists there.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not some right-wing nut. In fact, I'm a registered Democrat. However, I'm very moderate and vote for and support other moderates regardless of party.
Now, if you want
really liberal, try Eugene (not Eugene Levy - the city of Eugene, Oregon - although Eugene Levy seems pretty liberal to me also
