this is a ten question test -

He meant he got all ten of my questions as false, and that he sent his Part 1 NF test answers to tjones1 and he got a 91 on that. You have to follow the entire thread to understand what he meant.

I can't wait to see what my coaches get on the short test. They'll be taking it on Thursday night.

Nice job... you got a 91.

Yes, they certainly try to trip us up on the wordings.

This has to be some sort of record for coaches, right?!? :D

:D

Alright, Coach appealed one of the questions. In a close vote, the appeal was overturned.

Officially, Coach got a 92 - again, nice job!

The answer in question was "False and true...".

So, if that happens in a game, what's the mechanic?

Easy, I grab my rule book outta my briefcase and appeal.
Then the official gives me the time out signal/mechanic.:D

What's the mechanic if a jumper touches the ball a second time after tapping it once?

Actually, to carry this out a little further, for the purposes of study, are the test answers ever posted online somewhere? If I wanted to see the Part II test from 2007 and the answers, is it out there?

Play on.

6-3-7d

Neither jumper shall:
d. Touch the ball more than twice.

The jump ball hasn't ended yet.

6-3-8
The jump ball and the restrictions in 6-3-7 end when the touched ball contacts one of the either nonjumpers, an official, the floor, a basket or backboard.

I'm hoping you mean more than twice, as touching it twice is not a violation? ;)

Actually, there is no set mechanic for this violation. The official with the call should step in with their hand up, palm open (to signal the violation), and perhaps verbalize the reason for the violation. I suppose to better communicate the violation, one might signal two "tips" (like the foul tip signal in baseball), but purists would say since there is no approved signal, don't give one. It is similar to the FT violation where the shooter does not hit the rim - there is no set mechanic or signal, but many officials use the "swirly" signal.

Dang, there we go with those "wordings" that thru me off.
If I get moderated for spewing out a test question so be it.

true or false?
A jumpball ends when the tapped ball touches a jumper a second time.
I answered False, but I confess, I false multiple fouled myself.

I answered False because I read the rule wrong and then told Tanner that it "could" be True because the jump ball would 'technically" end on the violation that the jumper touched it twice. But since that is NOT a violation.....I was wrong again

So basically, I got the right answer but for the wrong reason. Two wrongs DO make a right.

And I'm sticking with my 92.;)
