Hopefully the two Ps can come out of this and learn a lesson rather than be pissed. They didn't take care of business, and the game got out of hand to the point where admn felt they needed to add a third. That's just not fair to the third guy, to be honest. If I were you, after watching the first half and change, I'd have rung him up early in that exchange. It was obvious you were going to have to, no sense giving him extra rope when you know exactly what he's going to do with it.

Sometimes you just have to play whack-a-mole.

Not a problem, I'd just love to do the whacking mechanic for a T. But now after doing football, I might try to reach for a flag instead :D

Believe me, the yellow hanky can work wonders for compliance. Even if its just a sideline warning.

Off sport, but not off topic.......2 years ago, was working a varsity baseball dbl hdr with the same 2 JV teams on the next diamond. Eating a hotdog between games w/ my partner when the home JV coach approaches us, said he wished we were doing his games, as the PU in the 1st game called a delay of game penalty against his pitcher and threw a yellow flag onto the field. We shrugged, said we've never heard of that before, and he walked off as the 2 umpires from his game walk up with their food.

Before we said a thing (didnt know either of them), one asked if that coach was complaining about his pitchers delays, then said he'd warned, then threw a flag he had in his pocket.

I just turned to my partner, said, "time to get our 2nd game going".....

Had they, it probably would have been 2-man for the whole game.

It would be an accident if I hit him in the face with the flag, really ...

Sounds good. Throwing a flag at a coach, or holding up a yellow, or red, card to his face, would be cathartic.
