the nba assigns this league. to be invited to work this league you need to be seen by:ed rush, joe borgia, or don rutledge. they are the 3 main people that hire officials for the league. a good camp to go to that all 3 attend is coast2coast referee school. for info go to refereeschool.com

Tony,

Have you attended Coast 2 Coast before? Does the price for the camp include lodging, food, etc? Just wondering. How is the training at the school? Are you going to be attending one of the sessions this summer? Just interested in finding out some more information about the school.

cuban,
yes, i have attended this camp before and will also attend this summer. the price does not include lodgeing but does include breakfast and dinner each day(lunch is on your own). for an open identification camp coast2coast could be the best learning/feed back camp there is. it is completely run by nba staff, and they get very involved with each camper that attends and the primary goal is to make you a better official no matter what level you are working or desire to work. they tell you up front that if working highschool ball is the only ball you want to work then they will try to make you the best highschool basketball official that you can be. you are guaranteed to work 5 ball games thru the duration of the camp and every game you work is broken down by an nba official and the crew that works the game with you. there are lectures during the morning and after noon about handling situations, coaches, playrers, and partners. i could go on for a while about the breakdown of this camp but this should give you the jist of the camp.
