Sorry, think you're wrong. Since the ball bounced in the backcourt, the ball had backcourt status. Using the three-points principle (two feet + ball) to determine frontcourt/backcourt status, once the player touched that ball, he was in backcourt. Violation.

If the ball hadn't bounced in backcourt first, then he would still have frontcourt status when he touched the ball (while airborne).
