I have a unique request for you veterans! This Friday, I will be competing in a Toastmasters contest. I've decided my topic is going to be sportsmanship, specifically the need for adults to set the right example! My premise is that the poor sportsmanship we teach our kids leads to their poor sportsmanship on and off the court.

I would like to give a few illustrations of really poor sportsmanship. Would a few of you please share the poorest examples of sportsmanship you've personally witnessed?

Thanks, and I'll let you know how the contest turns out!

Class 1A girls rivalry game. Home girls won by 10 points. Everything was cool so my partner and me left the floor. We had the visiting team next day in a tournament and the coach laid into us. She said that after we left, the girls did their customary walk down the line "high fiving" after the game and all her girls told her later that the home team girls had spit in the palms of their hands before high fiving. Nasty!
