So, Lori, how has the season been? Since you are living my dream, I will be delighted to hear anything you may have to tell about your D1 experiences. Is it as fun as you hoped? Are you starting to feel settled in? What are you learning? What advice do you have for the wannabes?

I don't know about Lori's D1 schedule but I can tell you that she will be working the Western Regionals in the NCHSAA State Tournament. Only 6 or 9 officials in an association, depending on the size of the association, are selected each year to work the Regionals. In NC, the Regionals are the quarterfinals and semifinals of the tournament. Congrats Lori!

I hope Lori won't mind me sharing this information with everyone. From what I've been told, she's a very good official and is deserving of this assignment. Lori's husband, Todd, is the booking supervisor for the Southwestern Officials Association in western NC. Theirs is the smallest basketball association in NC but they have quality officials and work some good basketball. Rivalries in western NC are very strong!
