in bounds question

with the clock stopped and to conserve time, the in bounce pass is rolled to his teamate who waits to the last possible second to pick it up. my question is, when does the 10 second count start, when the ball is thrown in bounds or when the ball is touched?

The throw in does not end until the ball is touched (legally) time does not start until the ball is touched. So, the 10 seconds count does not start until the ball is touched

Neither. The 10 second backcourt count doesn't start until player-control (and thus team control) is established. That may or may not be on the first touch.

Unless, of course, a ball has been tapped by the defense into the offense's backcourt, in which case you start the count .....

Sorry, that's another thread.

I'm a bad boy.
