Play offs?

Does your association have a policy for assigning play off games?

For example, you have to score an 85 on part II in our association to get a play off game.

We also have a rule that you have to score a 75 to do varsity during the regular season. Anyone else have anything like that?

Does everyone have to take Part II every year? We do.

In our association you must meet the following;

1) Score at least an 80 on the test.
2) Work at least two scrimmages.
3) Work a minimum of 15 games during the regular season.
4) Attend a minimum of 5 association meeting, two of those being the mandatory rules clinic and mandatory association election meeting.
5) Have no outstanding fines or fees (rescheduling, late to game, etc.)
6) Paid you dues on time (mid-March) the previous year.

If you fail to meet all these requirements, you will not be given a play-off game even if you are requested by the coaches involved...they will simply be told you are unavailable.

here in Il (at least whee I live) there are no assigners. I call a school talk the the AD and book Varsity contests. Scores don't matter, # of games doesn't matter, and post season assignments are based on your availability on the web.

I've gotten several post season assignments just because I said I was available on the web calendar

In Illinois, post season assignments are based on but not limited to the items listed in our Handbook.

http://www.ihsa.org/forms/current/of...s-handbook.pdf

Pages 18 & 19.

Which include your Part I exam score (1b), number of games work (1e), and your availability (4).

Constitution State

In Connecticut, state tournament assignments are controlled by the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Association (CIAC), our sports governing body. Assignments are soley based on coaches votes, all coaches, not just those involved in the tournament. In Connecticut, a team must win 40% of its games to be given a tournamant berth.
