Exclamation Incredibly off topic: It's official - I'm old

Got a new cell phone about two weeks ago to replace my old one. It was working fine up until yesterday afternoon when it wouldn't turn on. I knew it was charged, so I tried taking the battery out and putting it back in - no difference. I even charged it anyway - again, no difference. My carrier has a retail outlet not far from my office so I decided to drive over there. I got into their parking lot and thought I'd try it one more time. It worked perfectly! I sat there for a minute, deep in thought (at least as deep as I can think) and finally realized what the problem was. Any guesses? I had been pushing the wrong button!

What's next? Maybe accidentally hitTING THE SHIFT KEY ON MY KEYBOARD AND NOT NOTICING IT? NAH - THAT'LL NEVER HAPPEN!

So, what kind of phone is it? And what kind of phone/PDA do most of you use?

I'm on the Motorola Q myself.

Mark, don't feel too bad. I'm a youth pastor and I'm a techie. I have a Palm Treo 700p and my junior high and high school students can't figure out how to use my phone! Granted, it's a smartphone, but I didn't think it was THAT smart!

Palm Treo 750. Hard to imagine not having it once you use one for so long. Great way to manage calander, email & contacts.

HTC Mogul. Had the Treo 700 before it. Can't imagine not having a smart phone now. My wife can't ever figure out how to do anything with it other than play bubble breaker, so it all works out fine.

Mark's problem is that he keeps looking for the rotary dial in order to make calls...it's really driving him nuts.

The new Samsung i760 w/ data plan. Calendar, and contacts, tasks and three email accounts all sync'd wirelessly. The Arbiter on the fly. Wi-Fi also, when I'm near a hot spot or open network. Couldn't get by without it now that I have it.

I haven't progressed that far. I keep asking the operator to place my calls.

Actually, I have a Nokia 2610 and use a Palm Zire. These are about as simple as you can get. I wanted to get the new Jitterbug phone, but it's not supported by my carrier. For those of you who don't get the AARP magazine, the Jitterbug is a phone designed for old dudes like me. It's just a phone with a very large well-lit display and really big buttons.
