Hi Everyone!
Just wanted to keep you updated on a post that I made back in November entitled "Too Soon?" in which I struggled with the dilemma of whether or not to accept varsity games as I am only in my third year. Well, I just wanted you to know that I did six games at this level and SURVIVED!! The first one, I was was so nervous I almost puked on my own shoes during the National Anthem! Last night was the most challenging...a AAAA game with last year's state champions against a rival team (whose standing this year is second in the section behind them). All went well and as some of you advised, the only way that you can learn the "Varsity game" is to work them. I did some things well, and made some mistakes in other areas...things to work-on.

Anyway, thanks for your encouragement and support back in November. I may not have accepted these assignments if I had not consider some of your very good advice.

Cheers!
Becky

Congrats Doghead!

This is also my third year in basketball first year varsity. I definitely had some of those same feelings. Overall it has been a fun year.

You know you've arrived when you can stand during the entire National Anthem at a varsity game without staring at anyone's pants.

I'm in the same boat, 2nd year and I got my first 9 varsity games. Nervous at first, but realizing that it's just the game and we have to call it made it go well.

Rebecca --

It's great to hear such a good report. I have been wondering how you've been doing and hoping all was well.

Your good experience gives me hope that I'll do well when I get my first varsity games. With a lot of hard work this spring and summer, I hope that will be next year. I will count on you to pass along the encouragement, so that I can hope some day to be as good as you!!
