Actually, it did happen to one of my partners last year. During play, he caught my eye and pointed to the men's room. I nodded that I understood and he just ran off the court. I moved into one-person position until he came back.

Of course, he told me before the game he wasn't feeling well. I just made sure we didn't share whistles.

You can stop play and allow the official to do his business. 5-8-2-d allows the official to stop play for "any emergency." I'd say necessary movement in the backcourt is an emergency.

I'd have the players go to their respective benches and then resume play when the red-faced official returns to the floor.

Necessary movement in the backcourt.. LOL

OK.. good. I got a double today I think I'll be ok, but the tummy is rumbling a little.

This might be an item you want to put on before leaving home.

It does not sound like you guys had a proper pre-game.

Maybe I should "cut and paste" you the mechanics.

Peace

You might also want to take along a cork. BTW - the official term for this type of stoppage of play is BTO (bio time out).

OK - let's not get into jokes about "taking too much crap from coaches". It's just too easy.
