Just a little braggin...

Padgett is always bragging about his grandkids, but my granddaughter is too little to really be a star like Padgett's so I'll just have to tattle on myself.

Worked a 3x3 tournament this weekend, which went pretty well, and I actually had a number of teams requesting to work on my court. I ejected one coach, who in the end took his team and walked off the court, and there was one team who clearly lost their game themselves, but blamed it entirely on me, but other than that, I did great. Even the adult teams I worked with like me, and the losers all told me I'd done well. I know they say that if you believe them when they say you did good, you have to believe them when they say you did bad. But when a losing team tells me I did a good job, I take it to the bank.

The tournament itself was part of a street fair in a downtown area of a small city, and they had the courts all mixed in with the booths and stuff, so there were some problems, like when the ball got away and bounced into a both and knocked over a bunch of displays. ANd the old ladies with walkers who kept wandering into the middle of the courts! And whoever had typed the rules onto the website had "done it wrong" and we had to start every game with an explanation of how it was "supposed to be". But I took my money and left with a decent feeling that I'd done an adequate job. THat was nice.

Sounds like a blast, Juulie. Where was this?

BTW - my son (who you know) just emailed me a picture of my grandson Jackson (who's 1 1/2) wearing a White Sox cap. I guess he wants to be a shortstop when he grows up.

Yea, and 1 1/2 is a good age to start thinking about that, eh? Wouldn't want him to get to adulthood with no goals or sense of direction!

Hope he isn't left-handed.

If he's not on the premiere travel team in your area yet, it's too late.

Actually, it would be Pampers.

As my son says, it's not being a pessimist to state that the diaper is never half empty.

BTW - Jackson loves to throw the ball for his two dogs and then watch them fight over it. And...he throws like a boy. I'm teaching him a slider.

Finally got your hands on some meds, and you over-did it? I guess that's good for a change.
