If you're using this for training new IM officials, it's probably a bit too much. As a refresher, it looks pretty good, although some slides are a bit busy.

The one thing I'm uncertain about, though, is your last-second shot directive:

"–If shot is released before buzzer, whistle when ball finishes"

What do you mean by this? As several others on here have pointed out before, the whistle should not be sounded while the ball is still in flight, as it will cause the ball to become dead.

Sounds to me like he is saying to wait to blow the whistle until the try finishes. That is totally correct.

It does? I don't have my books here, but that doesn't sound right to me.

It isn't right.

It also brings up the (unresolved) argument about whether you should blow your whistle at the end of a period also.

I know my wife doesn't like that.

Well, I typed and re-edited several responses, but all of them would probably get deleted.

So, we better move on, before my wife sees this and I get deleted.

Good call. It's summer, my books are packed away and apparently my memory isn't at 100%.
