Before every technical foul is called, you blow your whistle...hence the ball is dead.

That's not true in cases where a "T" is called while a try or a free throw is in flight, or if the "T" is called on an opponent of a player who is in the trying motion. The ball remains live in those cases until the shot is either made or missed. NFHS rule 6-7-7EXCEPTIONa,b,c.

Then your previous post about a technical foul not being called during a live ball is incorrect???
