The Hairy Eyeball is my dad's term for "The Parent Look" It's the look that a parent gives to a kid who is out of reach, but doing something punishable. It says, "Kid, if you stop now, we'll both forget this happened, but keep going and... BAM!!" I have had a good deal of parenting experinece, and my hairy eyeball is well developed. I find it can work particularly well on certain coaches, especially when they know they are on thin ice. I think that's enough metaphors for one post, so I'll stop.
