Why? I find them to be easy on the legs. Plus, much less slipping than on a wood floor.

Cool strangest play is a Davism

Here's my strangest play ever. Dave and I were working a boys varsity holiday tournament (FYI those of you in Portland, it was Tualatin at Lake Oswego). A1, at the top of the key, wanted to pass to A2 who was cutting low across the lane. He whipped a bullet pass down the lane. Just as he did, B1 cut across the lane with the back of his head toward the ball. The ball hit him smack dab on the head, went up and hit the backboard and then dropped in the basket. B1 was knocked about 10 feet.

I asked Dave what he thought of the play. He said, "I think the next guy who tries it will have H-O-R-S."

two double cheese burgers before the game? Reminds me of the time I witnessed Kareem Abdul Jabbar devour a double Fat Burger (at the original on La Cienega) around 3:00 p.m. on the day of a 7:00 p.m. game. I would be afraid to take the court!

15. Best place to eat after game is:
