Bonus Davism

Aarrgh! In my post of the top 10 favorite Davisms I forgot this gem. Just consider the top 10 to have 11 items, kind of like that conference in the midwest.

Coach after game: that was the worst officiated game ever.

Dave: couldn't have been, coach.

Coach: why not?

Dave: it would be too much of a coincidence for the worst officiated game ever and the worst coached game ever to happen in the same game.

Wasn't it a Davism to walk to the bench at the start of the 2nd half and sit next to the coach.... When he asks why or what are you doing, you respond with something to the effect of "I thought I call from here for the second half since you obviously have a much better view here than I had on the floor!"

When a coach is yacking a lot, look over at him/her and say, "Coach, put in a two-three defence." When the coach asks why, say "Well, since you're helping me referee, I thought I'd help you coach."

Actually, there was one very close to those posted above. Dave once said to a coach: "Let's trade places. You come out here and call the game, and I'll sit on the bench and act like a jackass."

That's actually one of my favourite comments to make - but it can land you in hot water!
