Don't worry about it, Ch1town...most of us got it that you were being sarcastic...

Don't apologize. I got it. It was sarcastic and funny.

I didn't get the sarcasm and I stand corrected. And my apologies to Ch1town.

Aren't all fouls judgment calls? One person could easily think that none of the fouls should have been called, and another could think they let them slide on a couple.

The press wanted to see Hibbert against Oden, as if one game would enable them to judge each's potential. This is the nature of today's sports press, to seek the quick story in order to make the early editions. The refs probably ruined Forde's lead with their calls, so off come the gloves.

No biggie sj, fortunately I've learned to acquire the "thick-skinned" quality that we officials should possess. Let's do what the latter part of this threads topic suggest.

I thought it might be sarcasm, but honestly I wasn't sure, so I figured I'd just make sure everyone was clear what I thought on the issue.

I saw a sports talk show this afternoon where the subject came up that the Spurs now are hoping that the other refs don't take it out of them over the Crawford story. Tony kornheiser said he thought that it was entirely possible that they might. Scheez.

It's no different than Mark Cuban keeping "stats" to work the league and refs, or Phil Jackson making selected comments right before or during the playoffs about refereeing certain players. They are both hoping there is a seed of doubt planted, so if a referee is faced with a crucial call, maybe they'll make it in favor of the complaining team. Now the Spurs have a built-in excuse for any questionable call - it's those mean ol' refs getting back at them for getting Joey suspended.

It's just all part of the NBA entertainment. How is it really any different than the feuds between professional wrestlers? Isn't it more fun to watch a game with an underlying story line?

All I can say is, go Suns.

That reminds me - on Letterman last night, his Top 10 list was, "Top 10 Signs your NBA Ref is Nuts"

#5 was, "Thinks the Knicks rebuilding plan is working."

The one I liked was, "Has a 24-second clock over his bed."

Or the one "Gives players extra free throws for cigarettes"...or "Sticks the ball under his jersey and claims to be carrying LeBron's baby"...didn't really like the shot at Kobe, but the rest were pretty funny.
