Question

Game last night, plyer has a spot throw-in, no press. Throws ball to player in front court. Throwe-in steps onto the court before ball is touched by any other player. Violation?

No. As long as he doesn't step in while he still has the ball, there's no violation.

mcfref,

Think of all the times that at the end of a period when you see the kid roll the ball down the floor with the clock stopped in order to save clock time. The player who rolled it inbounds does not wait out of bounds 30-40 feet behind the play waiting for his teammate to touch the ball.

It is definitely not a violation.

Once the thrower-in has released the pass inbounds, he may step onto the court.

Exclamation

Since most HS officials have just taken or will be taking NSFA test it would be wise to know regulations of a throw in and when a throw in ends.
Once the ball leaves the thrower's hands he/she may enter the court.

Mcfref

Think about this situation:

The thrower steps in and then steps back before making the throw. The thrower then makes a inbounding pass.
Violation or not?

A better question might be, why did ref allow second part of this situation to occur?
