Geeze.

And I would have done it for only 14 mil.

Anyway, thanks to their good friends in Texas and Seattle NY is 5 of 6 and has vaulted from the cellar to second place just behind you know who.

Hey - 5 1/2 games isn't "just behind" the Sox until after the All-Star Break.

Hey, none of this matters until around mid August & then gets serious after labor day.

Joel Zumaya is out for 12 weeks with a ruptured tendon in a finger on his throwing hand.

Bummer, mick.......

But.......you still got your Pistons. They look awesome.

JR,
I haven't read the cause of the injury anywhere.
Until I do, I am guessing he was screwin' around.
The injury could be a cheap lesson in vulnerabilty for a 22-yr.-old.

Luckily [for Tiger fans] the team batting average is up about 30 points in the past 10 days, or so.

Nope, he did it warming up in the bullpen, Mick. Threw a fastball and blooey. There she went. Sounds either like a freak injury or a weakness already there that was aggravated.

USA Today has a story on it on their website in Sports this morning.

With a talent like that, you sureasheck hope that he's gonna be OK.

Yer right.
The Tigers can use Zumaya's "Zoom Time".
But, I guess most teams would like some of that. :)

Can things get worse for that pitching staff ?

As long as we keep getting calls like that one at second last night, we won't need any better pitching!! Bloomquist was out by a long shot, but hey - we'll take it!:D

This signing simply ensures that Clemens' bust in Cooperstown will have a cap with a dollar sign on it.

(And yes, I stole both those lines from The Sports Guy on espn.com :D )

Then it looks like May 8, 9, and 10 should be a Mariners' cakewalk in Motown. :)

The umpire, Gerry Davis, admitted that he blew it. His response after the game as quoted in the NY papers was "I didn't miss the call. I kicked the sh!t out of it.".

He's human. He ain't no different than the rest of us.
