The whole idea of heckling is just wrong.

You must have been at the Stadium when Manny was up, and heard what 50,000 people had to say to him. Well, that's just <b>wrong</b> imo. Manny shouldn't have to put up with that. No wonder the poor man has to take September off each year. He should be allowed to hit without have to hear any negative comments at all. Personally, I think that they should throw out any fan(s) at Yankee Stadium that would make any negative comments at all to the opposition. Manny deserves complete quiet while he's working, the same as tennis players and golfers.

It should be just like the NFL, where the fans are <b>afraid</b> to boo the players(coughPacmancough).

Right. It's the Code of Hammurabai. That code says that if you try to hackle wimmen, you're liable to lose your cockle.

Hackles and cockles, alive, alive o!

Careful, JR, you're on a slippery slop, you know.

Can we still throw D-cell batteries at him?

As long as you do it without comment, you're fine.

As opposed to a <b>"sloppery slip"</b>, as in that beautiful but still untranslated language spoken by Old School?

Only if you run out of car batteries.

Car batteries too heavy, usually end up hitting the people in the field level boxes.

So what's the downside?

They leave for medical help. You move into their seats.

'[Winton] was . . . making a player feel uncomfortable, and we have no tolerance for that,'' Barrett said. ``Serena and her camp felt it was racially motivated, so it made it more serious and . . . we err on the side of the player or guest who feels uncomfortable.''
If only Chris Webber knew about this provision when he called that excessive time-out during the '93 NCAA D-I Championship game. All those fans yelling and screaming surely made him feel uncomfortable, they should have reset the clock to err on the side of the player....who was visibly uncomfortable.
"By the time stadium security approached Winton, the match had ended and he was in the hallway. He was questioned, escorted off the grounds by Miami-Dade police and issued a no-trespass warning. Tennis, like other sports, is not immune to heckling. But fans deemed to go too far are kicked out."
Nice of them to at least watch the entire match so he could get the full value of his ticket. FYI: Most fans who are deemed to go to far are kicked out in every sport, I'm not sure if the sport of Tennis knew that.
