Swingandmiss ,
I don't mean to take the state you work in to task but are you three guys the only officials in that state ? You note that after the first game you are headed back out to the floor to do four more games ? Are you telling me you guys did at least 5 Varsity games in one day ? That is quite an impressive feat ! I am in pretty good shape and I know that if I worked 5 games Varsity games in one day I would be a little exausted both physically and mentally .

I would have told my partner that I called the game as I saw it. If you were watching in my area and saw something that needed to be called call it!

We always cover this in pregame. Watch your primary/ call your primary- but if you see it call it. Getting it right is as important as who's primary it is!

I have no call, no contact, no foul. B1 finally slams into A4, hard, in R's area, he calls foul.

Poor coaching here. If B really wanted to foul or better yet get a steal, why not go man and have someone on every offensive player? Making B1 chase the ball to get a foul is pretty poor coaching by B and good coaching by A in keeping the floor spread and the ball moving. What the heck were B2-B5 doing?

Don't reward poor coaching by calling phantom fouls.

This was a private school "Invitational Tournament" they were really hard up for officials as the public schools were also in playoff time. We worked 10 games in 2 days. 2 Friday afternoon, 2 Friday night, 2 Saturday morning, 4 Saturday afternoon. Thank God for hot tubs.
