Hi.. The gang,

I officiated a game last night, senior girls, and I noticed that one team had tape on their jersey's. Is this legal ? Well for what I can see the tape was a fashion statement to keep their shoulder seams together. I was just wondering if their was a rule on this. Now I can see if the jersey was too big that tape would keep the jersey from falling off thier shoulders but this was not the case. I wasn't sure on the ruling so I let them play but should I had them remove the tape from the jerseys?

No. There's nothing that forbids them from taping the jersey in this manner.

PP

The location to reference this issue is (NFHS) Rule 3 -Section 4 & 5.

As long as it does not interfere with with the visibility of the players' numbers or constitute a safety concern, I will let them play.
