Recently I was watching a game where a head varsity coach was given a technical foul and kicked out of a junior varsity contest played right before them. The varsity coach was the instructed to have to sit out the varsity contest as his one game suspension. Should he have sat out the varsity that night and the next week's game, or just that nights game?

Most states have a rule that you cannot participate in any game at any level until he has sat out one game at the level he was ejected. So if he is the varsity coach in a JV game, he would have to sit out the Varsity game that night, then the next contest he could not participate in the Freshman game, if it precedes the JV, the JV game but can show up for the Varsity. So most varsity coaches I know of watch the JV from high enough in the stands that they don't interfere with the game.
