Not a chance JR. Mayo has shown his true colors, and I have watched the video from 5 different camera angles . . . the ref had it right, and Mayo was WRONG! I was just curious if anyone else saw the elbow. Even the Huntington Head Coach aluded to the elbow in his written statement. You can't see the player's (#12) entire body, just the elbow come out, because one of Mayo's teammates was in the way of the camera view. #12 then backs out and raises his hands as to say, "come on, let's do it . . ." Watch the bottom of the "spotlight." The spotlight disappears and the elbow is immediately after that to Mayo's left arm/side.

Sigh.....

I think that I spotted some weapons of mass destruction down in one corner too.

You really need to let this one go, Dog.

maybe someone should point Bush jr. to this -- as clearly Saddam hid them where we all could see it -- in a HS basketball game in 2007

It's nothing but a conspiracy against the ballplayer.

Please tell me that you're not an official. You don't know any details but it's all the official's fault.

Sigh...........

Reading, like listening is a skill that will serve you well in your officiating duties.

To a casual observer with no 'axe' to grind(swallow your whistle) has to agree it looks like a flop. And in my opinion from the tape only, the second T was pretty quick and again, I don't know what was said and am only going by the tape. And please supply the quote that I said he deliberately planned to take a dive or that I said it was his fault.

At your next clinic, I suggest spending extra time on conflict and resolution.

fullor30 -- you should maybe prescribe yourself your own medication.

OJ admitted to bumping -- whether or not Lazzo overacted is not for anyone to decide -- OJ bumped him and whether he fell or not doesnt change that fact.

Quick T -- your opinion -- it counts for less than a sportcasters knowledge of the rules -- and in the tape you CAN hear what is going on and you know the WHOLE events of the game and what happened.

And when you talked to the official to get his side, what did he tell you?

I'm a casual observer with no axe to grind and I can't see how anyone can flop when he gets hit from <b>behind</b>. He isn't even looking at Mayo when the contact occurs. And again, Mayo already has admitted that he caused the contact and also tangled legs. Don't let that little piece of information stop you though. The only ones still crying "conspiracy" and "WWE flops" are the fanboys. And you.

Deecee...........again, I'm only making an observation from the tape. I'm not making a judgement of intent be it malice or incidental. Of course he bumped him, of course he should be suspended. My point AGAIN, is that by the tape ONLY, the fall looks suspect. Anyone who thinks he flopped or planned this of course dead wrong.Lazo probably had no idea who was behind him and it could have been his partner who caused him to fall. All I'm commenting on is the physical aspect of the fall and glad it wasn't me.

My 10 year old saw it and thought the fall was embellished, nothing more, nothing less. He had no idea who the player was, nor the situation.

Strictly an observation

You're talking out of both sides of your mouth. You're saying that he flopped but anybody who thinks that he flopped is wrong. Fullor, <b>you're</b> the one that thinks that he flopped, and you posted as such.

Your exact words were <i>"but by the tape of the 'flop', it looks more bogus than a WWF main event.</i>

Precisely, anyone looking at the tape WITHOUT knowing the particulars would be inclined IMHO that it looks theatrical. In addition using the word BUT in any instance dismisses the previous statement. Also, the fall is described on youtube as the fosbury flop hence italics around 'flop'.

Next you'll want me to diagram my sentences. Any dangling participles?

There's where we disagree. Fanboys would think that. Officials wouldn't.

You're entitled to your opinion. If you felt that the official flopped, and that was flop was as bogus as a WWF main event, hey, so be it. I respect your <b>right</b> to have that opinion. I don't respect <b>your</b> actual opinion though. And never will.

There has to be a chip on a shoulder because someone thinks your point of view is silly. Next thing you are going to tell me if we disagree about politics, then there has to be a chip as well.

BTW, I do not think the official flopped. If Mr. Big Time did not want anyone to pick on him, then he should know when to walk away and he would have had nothing to worry about. Some problems in life you create yourself.

Peace

White 12 did flick out his elbow. But that had nothing to do with his beelining to the reporting official. The acts are mutually exclusive.

Dang! Nick Van Exel. That was that thug's name that I thought I had forgotten. Dang! Dang! Dang!

On a side note. This is what happens when someone makes a comment they know nothing about (ignorance). Latrell Sprewell has never had "dredlocks"; he had braids. You may say "whatever", but that will say something about you.

Gee, I'm never going to be part of your cabal? Are you always this simple minded? Again, for the comprehension impaired, it LOOKED like a 'flop' from the tape to the casual observer.

If you read my other posts all I said was it LOOKED like a flop to the casual observer. Most of the posts here have agreed his fall looked strange. Nothing more nothing less. Of course he was tripped, that doesn't change the fact it still looks strange and as always, IMHO. You may think otherwise.

It looked like a person with his legs taken out desperately trying to keep his balance. That's why the arms were going crazy. Had he not tried to stay of his feet that wouldn't have happened. Having recently fallen through a child's gate, I can assure you that any attempt to keep your feet will look like that.

Before viewing the replay on YouTube, I also read casual observers saying Mr. Lazzo was laying in the fetal position, which also wasn't true.

You are being disingenuous. You know good and well that when you said it "looked funny" you were questioning the ref's integrity and accusing him of flopping.

OJ Mayo said Lazzo's legs got tangled. OJ Mayo said he "brushed up" against the official. So why is it still being debating whether or not it looked funny?

Well, if you interpret "cabal" as being sports officials with just a wee tiny bit of integrity, then I'd say that you're completely right. You aren't <b>ever</b> going to be a part of that cabal, fanboy.

May I make a suggestion? Why don't go go find a fanboy website? You know, one where all the fanboys discuss all of the many great conspiracies that everyone is busily plotting against their favorite team? You'll be right at home there. You can discuss officials flopping just like the refs do in the WWF. You're kinda like a fish out of water here, you know, this being a website for officials.

Please note that I said all that without calling him a "dickhead" even once. New record for ol' JR.:)

Yourassisick 'Ref"...... Over the years I've had 'partners' like you, bigger than the game, macho attitude, my way or the highway, stealing calls all over the court, tunnel vision, and no respect for the players. Is putting on the uniform and bullying compensate for deficiencies off the court? You appear to be the classic example of hiding behind the whistle. Go toss some 5th grade Mom today and come back here all puffy chested and tell us all about it.

Time to hang it up and talk about the good ol' days.

I've never met Jurassic nor ever seen him officiate. I've had a few disagreements with him in this forum. But I'm wondering how you came to the conclusion in blue based on what he wrote in this thread.

False bravado comes to mind regarding hiding behind the whistle.

It's a message board full of opinions, he doesn't like mine and I don't like his.

Flop or not...who cares?

Who cares if he did flop? I think he should have flopped. Anything to get players like that loser suspended is acceptable to me. At least other officials won't have to deal with him for awhile now.

deecee Tue Feb 06, 2007 11:42am

some opinions are based on hearsay and crap -- some are based on more factual evidence...guess where your opinion falls.

your opinion -- lazzo took a flop
facts -- mayo bumped him, feet got tangled he fell
facts -- mayo admitted bumping him and feet getting tangled
facts -- lazzo didnt even see mayo come up behind him therefore its more of a surprise to him

your opinion does not match up with the facts. its not about liking yours its about yours being full of sh!t

Comprehension is key here Spartacus, by the video as many have indicated here, his fall, on video(focus, stay with me now) looks(ie: appears) strange.

Show me where I said he "took a flop". Don't let facts get in the way of your 'story'

Why the hell do you care what it "looks" like? Both the official and the player have SAID that there WAS contact and that their feet got tangled...why are you making such a stink about what it looks like? Most officials are outraged that the kid made contact with the official and still got to play in his nationally televised games...you are fixated on what it "looks" like and what your 10 year old daughter thinks it "looks" like...that leads us to the same conclusion as JR - you're a fanboy troll...
