Did we really need this?

Coach of Tennessee's men's team, supporting the women's team:

Any chance Pat Summitt would come out like that for a men's game?

Thanks, Scrappy - I was just getting ready to go get some lunch, but it appears I've lost my appetite.

I really didn't like having to see the picture, but I will say it's pretty cool of a D1 Men's coach to do something like that.

Would a coach that is willing to do something like this, and win some games, be more attractive to recruits?

Well, when you're trying to put a team on kids' radars against the Dukes/UNCs/Kansas'/UCLAs of the world, I guess you gotta give it a shot.

But since Tennessee lost, they probably won't let him do it again.

I saw an interview Bruce Pearl had on Cold Pizza a few days ago. He said he made a comment about doing this on his radio show and someone called him on it. I guess he showed up with some of his players and his son. I think it is kind of cool that a coach of his stature would do something like this. BTW, he checked it out with the administration before doing this. So this was something Tennessee agreed to. I think he might win a recruit or two by doing this if you ask me.

Peace
