I guess he showed up with some of his players and his son. I think it is kind of cool that a coach of his stature would do something like this. There was also a player waiting in the wings to take over the role of the "V" and Pearl left 5 minutes in so he wouldn't be a continued distraction. By halftime he was showered and interviewed.
I went to Tennessee for grad school and the men's program lives in the shadow of the women's program there, so it's darned cool that Pearl and his players supported the women. And Pat Summitt gave him a kiss on the cheek before the game. I'd like to see the women support the men, and maybe they will, but I doubt they will in the same way.
And then UT fell behind 19-0. Came back to tie. And lost.
