By "most" you are meaning, those in the USA. Well IMO most of you are the exception to the rest of the world.

AFAIK Canadians spell "metre" (and also "mètre") and not "meter". What about learning the metric system yourselves or even adopting it?

After that you'll be ready to adopt also FIBA rules.
