Last year in the Missoula, Montana Officials Pool, a wonderful effort took place that I believe deserves attention. Through some terrible criminal action, a young wife and children lost their husband and father, who was a city policeman. The pool as I understand voted to donate one game fee each to be given to the unfortunate family. The point I am making here is that for whatever reason, we as officials get a bumb rap for one reason or another for giving our best to support athletics in and around our communities. We only make half the fans happy half of the time and we all know what the othr half feel about us! I thought the Missoula pool made a great gesture to help the needy and at the same time show others that we are humans with our lives and jobs kept in the correct perspective. Any other related efforts by other pools with related stories?
