Striped shirts were originally picked as the standard for officials for a very particular reason. It's hard to confuse stripes with the color of the players' shirts out on the court.. Wearing grey simply negates that reasoning imo.

I'm not really a traditionalist....just saying.

That's a nice little nugget of information JR. I had never heard the reason for the stripes. Thanks.
