5 on 3

The other week, I had a game in which we was playing with just 5 on 3. (All but 3 players fouled out) The coach who has 3 still wants the 30 seconds to "replace" a player in which he doesn't have. What to do?

give him the 30 seconds -- it cannot hurt -- but if this game was a blowout and the team with 3 was losing -- you could call the game as they do not have a chance at winning.

There is no 30 sec to replace. Just get the game going.

I agree, if there's no sub, there's no 30 seconds needed to replace the player.

That's only if they get down to 1 player.

Here's the rule reference for those interested:

3-1-1 Note: A team must begin the game with five players, but if it has no substitutes to replace disqualified or injured players, it must continue with fewer than five. When there is only one player participating for a team, the team shall forfeit the game, unless the referee believes that team has an opportunity to win the game.

No, you can't call the game until it gets down to 1.

Just thought I'd join the chorus.

hey deecee you cant call the game until there is only 1 player -- not 3 but 1 -- as in the absolute number 1 which is 1 more than 0 and 1 less than 2

It might not hurt but it is against the rules. Just wanted to make that clear to any newbies reading.
