It just doesn't get any better than this...

9:00 am, cool breezy gym. 9th grade all-star teams playing for 3rd place. Great partner, good table crew, brand new ball, 50 noisy parents. The game never went more than a 4 point spread. Countless ties and lead changes. Near the end, red ahead by 1, hit a lay-up, white requests a time-out with 12 seconds. P and I get together and talk. White gets the ball downcourt, pass, pass, dribble, dribble, pass out, woo-hoo, shooter free above the arc, swish!!! The roof went up six inches. 2-minute overtime was fast and furious with 15 total points scored. Red lost by 1. The game was two 20-minute run time halves, with stop time in the last 5 minutes of the game. OT 2 stop-time minutes. Final score 64-63. Talk about an adrenaline fix!!

No fair, Juulie. What are you doing having fun in Summer ball? It's supposed to be hot, boring, weird, and no fun.

best part: "brand new ball"

Sounds like a fun game to work. Sometimes summer ball is like someone else described and sometimes its a blast.

Juulie didn't even tell me these games were going on. I guess she doesn't love me anymore.

So you're not on McAllister's list? Somehow I can't see what "love" has to do with it...
