How do I find out locations and times for the WA (Whistles Anonymous) meetings in Portland? After watching "Forget Paris" on Friday, and a WNBA (Go, Fire!) game on Saturday, I'm in desperate need of help!!

Talking

Juulie - WA meetings are held the second Tuesday each week at Rasheed Wallace's house here in Portland. Special guest next meeting is Bobby Knight.

If you go, be prepared for everyone saying to you, "Hiiiii, Juulie."

P.S. take your whistle

That comes after she says, "Hi. My name's Juulie and I'm a whistleholic."

Want to hear your whistle....

Try Volleyball....

They whistle while they work.... even more than us, Basketball officials.

Just a suggestion.

We are all "hurting".

Smile Great for you!

I am glad to hear that some are able to keep their whistles "filled with air".

Unfortunately, some of us from smaller markets with less networking (early in our officiating endeavors) do have some idle time. AND IT SUCKS

I might have to pursue the football option.

It works! It gives me something to focus on so that I don't go crazy during September and October. Plus, it's a lot of fun, and it's not nearly as difficult to work as basketball.
