We had a situation occur. An offensive player was fouled in the act of shoting. One of his teammates committed basket interference. (Hung on the rim). Therefore the basketball was waved off. How many shots should be awarded? 1 - Cause he was in the act of shotting and it was an offensive violation that wripped the basket out. Or 2 - cause he was fouled in the act of shotting and the basketball was no good.

Under USA Basketball rules, interference is covered in Article 43.
43.2. - Penalty:
The ball becomes dead when the violation is called by the official(s).
43.2.1. If the violation is by the offence:
No point can be scored. The ball is awarded to the opponents for a throw-in from out-of-bounds at the free-throw line extended, unless the playing time is terminated.

Since it is concerned a violation and ball taken out on the side. I would read into this that interference nullifies the shot. Just as if no shot was ever taken. And 1 shot would be awarded.

No basket because of the interference. Since the goal didn't count, and he was fouled in the act of shooting--2 shots. The part about "no goal can be counted" refers to that specific shot on which the interference occurred. But you still enforce the rest of what happened just as though he missed the shot on his own.
