I forgot about this, but watching the 1st round of the woman's NCAA tournament today, I remembered that Vanderbilt puts their benches on the baselines (opposite). I couldn't see a scorer's table, I'm sure it was on the near side of the court (underneath the TV camera). I guess subs had to run to mid court to check in, but it was wierd seeing coaches patrol the baseline. The L often times had to dodge them when getting into position. There were no markings of a coaches box that I could tell.

Has anybody ever done a game where this is the case? What rules need to change that I'm not thinking of?

How could an NCAA tournament game be held like this? Put some chairs on the sidelines and lets play!

I've done AAU games like this, usually when they split a gym up into several courts. It's a real pain.
Of course, when I did it, as you looked at the one basket, you had the scorer's table on the left, then one bench directly behind the hoop, then the other bench to the right of the first.
I didn't know a major venue had done that.
