An interesting sidelight to this tournament:
Seneca HS played Winnebago HS in the super-sections Tuesday (winner goes to state final four this weekend). Winnebago has an all-state stud player that is going to a Big East school next season. This article tells how Seneca recruited one of their former players to help practice with the team so they would know how to play defense against a stud player: http://mywebtimes.com/ottnews/archiv...play&id=256086 Umm, the only problem is, this is against IHSA rules. http://www.ihsa.org/org/policy/2005-06/sect3.pdf (See Section 3.132 of the by-laws.) It will be interesting to see what the IHSA does in the next day or so.

And another one bites the dust!!!
Who was the genius that let this genius get in front of a mic (or pen and paper, or recorder or whatever) and say that he practiced with the team?? And coaches wonder why we don't want to listen to them spout about the rules. I say the IHSA has to make a ruling, although the Hales situation was much worse. They had college level violations going on then. This could be a slap on the wrist in comparison.
