New Team Control Foul Rule

Can someone please give the new definition of the team-control foul rule that was changed this year by the NFHS? Is any offensive foul now considered a team-control foul, and penalized with just a throw-in?

4-19-7: . . . A team control foul is a common foul committed by a member of the team that has team control."

The penalty indeed is just 'loss of ball' - a throw-in by the opponent at the spot nearest the foul.

Be certain that there is in fact team control. If, for example, a foul takes place during a shot, after the ball has been released, there is no team control and a foul by a teammate of the shooter would not be a 'team control foul'. If the bonus were in effect, the fouled party would be shooting.

Any foul commited by the team in control of the ball will not result in free throws providing the foul is neither intentional nor flagrant. It very important to know exactly what team control is. So review that.

A1 has the ball and it is knocked away by B1. During the scamble for the ball, A1 pushes B1.

During a throw in, A1, pushes B1.

During a shot by A1, A2 pushes B2, either before the relesae or afterwards.

Make sure you know these.

Clarify? All you did was confuse the issue by listing a situation where team control exists, where it doesn't exist and where it's questionable whether it exists or not. How is that clarification?
