You left out part of the case book cite. The full part cited was
"(b) during the intermission between the first and second quarters." Half time is an "intermission" also.
Rule5--5-1-- "Playing time for high school ages shall be four quarters of eight minutes each with
intermissions of one minute after the first and third quarter
and 10 minutes between halves. The
halftime intermission may be extended...."
