Girls JV summer league this afternoon was really, really fun - NOT! After calling about 50 violations in the first half, I wasn't in the mood for Coach A to start on my partner and me, which he did in the second half. Anyway, team B inbounds in backcourt after a made basket by A. Team A is pressing. I am trail. I'm showing a visible count, and the ball is touched in the frontcourt when my count was just going from 8 to 9.
Coach A yells at me, "Where were you at?", meaning where was I at in the count. My reply, "I was in the backcourt, Coach. Didn't you see me?"
He got that "George W. look" on his face and sat down. Mission accomplished.
