Mick,
your pet peeve is exactly why I would like to see the the mechanics merged. I have worked games with college officials and it drives me crazy to see them doing college mechanics during the NF game. The one that really got me was two years ago I was doing a Middle school game with a guy who did college. That was the year that college had 30 second T.O. and NF had 20's. The first time the coached hit his shoulders for a T.O., my partner grants him a 30.:-( |
what the ncaa memo says.....
What you are talking about is an experimental mechanic....it will be used only for D1 exhibition games, tournaments and classics played in November and December 2001....and will be used at the summer camps for assessment.
It says: A. On all fouls called in the frontcourt, the calling official will report the foul and go tableside of the court at either the C or T position. B On shooting fouls called in the backcourt, the calling official will report the foul and go tableside in the trail position. Watch the WNBA....they do it....and that is probably where it is coming from.... Gives coaches a chance to ask questions...and for the good official to respond/difuse the problems....without the coach screeming across the court. Tips are included on the memo.... |
