Fox 40 CMG w/ a smitty lanyard. I have been asked to go to the smitty noose lanyard though. I have used it a couple of times, not a big fan.

Why do your prefer the smitty over the smitty noose?

Best guess is he doesn't like a string around his neck, but I don't know for sure.

I can empathize with that guess. I own a noose, but don't especially like the feel of it around my neck. Once I get going, I don't notice it. But the way it feels when I first put it on is usually enough to make me take it back off. I also don't like how it turns on my neck when I start to sweat.

RE: hooper

It is a "Closter phobic" thing...I feel that I can not get it secure enough without choking myself. I also have a phobia about turtle necks, so I suppose it is the same thing.

According to Honig's, it's made by Molten, however it's distributed Fox40, therefore the Fox40 logo is printed on it. That's what I meant.

Having anything called a "NOOSE" around my neck doesn't sound appealing, Watched too many westerns in my lifetime to want a noose!

Frankly, in my sometimes less that humble opinion, I don't see why anyone would use anything but a FOX 40.

Is it just me or does it sound better if the refs are using the same whistle. This is why i like the fox 40, its what most of the refs are using, it works great, and it would help to keep everyone in an assoc ussing the same whistle?

I think it was pretty safe to say that 99.9% of officials were using the Fox before the Dolphin came out. I have no idea how many people have tried and are sticking to it.

I worked a game this year and one of my partners was using the Dolphin. It didn't really stick out to me. Back in the day there was this whistle called the pearl (I think). Although it is very comfortable in the mouth, it stood out big time when compared to a Fox40. So no, I don't think the Dolphin sounds a lot different. He told me that it is louder with less effort than a Fox40.
