If, at the start of the 2nd half, player A dribbles and attempts a shot at the wrong basket, and is fouled by player B in the act of shooting. What is correct call/action if: basket is made, or basket is not made. If it is made, does team B get 2 points and then player A shoots 1 shot at his own basket? If not made, does A shoot 2 at his own basket?

Since a shot a your opponents basket is NOT a Try or Tap there can be no shooting foul. This would be a common foul with ball to fouled team OB at spot closest to foul.

Actually they do not get the 2 points.
On a situation such as this as soon as the whistle blows the ball is dead. If the whistls blows after the ball goes through, then yes 2 points for B. Shooting on the other end if in the bonus, or ball OB at spot. ------------------ Ron Seattle Officials - Women's Basketball [This message has been edited by Ron Pilo (edited January 11, 2000).] |

And, of course, this all assumes that only A1 was confused. IF all players and the referees were wrong (for example, they discovered the mistake after the "try" by A1), then treat it as a try, and have A1 shoot two free throws at the correct end (or count the basket and shoot one, if appropriate).
