I've learned some good lines here for dealing with chippy coaches, and I came up with one yesterday when they were trying to outdo each other asking for calls. At least I think it's original. (Addressing both coaches), "OK, I wanted to be a coach when I was growing up, and apparently you wanted to be referees. But it just wasn't meant to be. So if you will please focus on COACHING, I will focus on REFFING."

I think it is funny.
Delivered at the right time that might just work.
:D Peace |
I like it :)

I like it too, it could be great if used in the right situation, I will definatly put that in my bad of phrases

IMO, the "you coach/I ref" or any variation of it is on about the same level of aggravating replys as when a coach says "call it both ways".

"Not on every call, Coach" "I saw it/ it was clean/ he kept his foot down/ he slid under/ stuck his knee out/ by rule....." or whatever fits. I'm just saying that the "you coach, I ref" line is oftentimes not going to help matters. |

I'm not really a ref, but I DID stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.
