Hi,
I just had to share this with you. I came across this when I was browsing some questions asked to the FIBA rules interpreter on FIBA's website. Is this covered in any casebook?! ;) bonn terso - PHILIPPINES (#244 de 250) 12/13/2005 Question: sir i would like to know what if the player was drunk during the play was the team commited a violation? thankyou -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Answer: I assume you are asking if dunking is legal in FIBA. It is legal. :D Here's the link: http://www.fibaamericas.com/rc_us.as...ext&cat=&pag=1 [Edited by QuebecRef87 on Dec 29th, 2005 at 08:19 PM] |
oh god, I'm happy it weren't the euro fiba organisation, but I'm ashamed :(
and why do they never ansver me :p I've asked several times why FIBA wont look at getting more referee signs, and why they wont compare with the NBA NFHS and NCAA and look to adopt some of the rules, but they wont answer |
One time at an Adult Rec Tournament there was supposedly a drunk player at one of the games. (I had no idea aside from hearing the refs talk about it after the game).
Once one of the refs realized the guy was drunk (the ref was also the city's assistant police chief, so maybe that's how he knew), he gave the guy a technical foul. Don't ask what rule justified it, because I have no idea.[1] :P So while the technical free throws were being shot, the guy starts to argue with the calling official. So once the second shot was administered, the guy got a second T, and ejection. By this time, an on-duty police officer was making his regular rounds at the gym and handled the situation from there. -- [1] Although it is possible being drunk could fall under unsporting conduct, perhaps. |
You obviously haven't reffed too many frat league basketball/football games lately.
