Advantages to having no heat in the house for 48 hours:
Don't need to put the food in the fridge. Fridge doesn't use much electricity Creating body heat uses calories Doing the dishes by hand is enjoyable. Kids love baths! Not hard to do exercises Hats disguise messy hair. Motivated to sort out all the skiing clothes and prepare them for use! Hot chocolate, and hot soup! We get our furnace winterized for free. Saves money on natural gas. |

Makes some of those drafty gyms we work in seem real comfortable. Hope they get it working soon..... It could be worse - talked to Holly last night, high there was +4 & the low -9 ...... she's real glad to be coming home on Friday for a month for Christmas break! |

We've been working on raising money for the local charity group Mercy Corp to help provide tents to Pakistan and the earthquake area. After the kids slept all night in the house with the temp falling, falling, falling, they're a little more sympathetic to the situation.
