Advantages to having no heat in the house for 48 hours:

Don't need to put the food in the fridge.

Fridge doesn't use much electricity

Creating body heat uses calories

Doing the dishes by hand is enjoyable.

Kids love baths!

Not hard to do exercises

Hats disguise messy hair.

Motivated to sort out all the skiing clothes and prepare them for use!

Hot chocolate, and hot soup!

We get our furnace winterized for free.

Saves money on natural gas.

Well, we finally broke down and finally turned on the heat last night. It was 7 degrees this morning here, so it was probably a good idea we did.

You forgot one Juulie....

Makes some of those drafty gyms we work in seem real comfortable.

Hope they get it working soon.....

It could be worse - talked to Holly last night, high there was +4 & the low -9 ...... she's real glad to be coming home on Friday for a month for Christmas break!

Boo hoo!!!!!!

It was -1 for a high here in NW Iowa yesterday. -12 was last nights low.

March and April please hurry.

We've been working on raising money for the local charity group Mercy Corp to help provide tents to Pakistan and the earthquake area. After the kids slept all night in the house with the temp falling, falling, falling, they're a little more sympathetic to the situation.

Y'all are killing me. We've already had 2 weeks straight of days with BELOW ZERO temps, and highs in the LOW single digits. Enough already!

Well, the high here (Clemson, SC) today was 52. With a jacket on, I was still able to go out and hit golf balls.

(Many disadvantages...... but this is one advantage to South Carolina)

I am watching it snow and thinking about my game that was snowed out tonight. When I read your post about 52 degrees I'm wondering how I'm going to bring myself to like you very much today!

So Cal dropped down to 70 degrees today. Almost threw a log on the fire. Sorry, couldn't resist.

Same here, snow is still coming down here. I had a Fresh/Soph game that was canceled. Night off, hopefully tomorrow's action doesn't get called off, but if it doesn't get any better it certainly should because it's dangerous out there.

If you've having to deal with these conditions tonight and still have a game, be careful!

One of the advantages of living in Houston is that during the summer, the temperature and the humidity are the same number.

Trivia question

Everyone know that 32 degrees F = 0 degrees C

What temp is it the same for both (example but not the answer; when it is 75 degrees F it is also 75 degrees C)

-40. When did this turn into a combination of the Weather Channel, Junior High science and grade school math?

OK smoref, I'll say True and False because this question is going to be thrown out by the NFHS. After all, a b'ball ref only has to know how to count to 5 or 10 and know when to do which, right?

My folks said it was getting pretty cold down there this week. At least cold for there.

What area of Houston do you live in Frank? I moved to St. Louis from the Champions area 6 years ago.
