Just saw a 3-second call in the Kansas/Arizona game in Maui. 9:30 left in the 2nd half. Kid got a rebound in the lane and instead of putting it back up, brought it down to the floor and then couldn't get it away from the defense. Tweet!

Must've been local HS refs calling the game. Surely big-time NCAA refs wouldn't make that call...

I only got to watch about 8 minutes of this game, but it looked like the crew was out of sinc...think I saw from about the 12:00 to the 4:00 mark in the second half...

I would never have called that, especially if he is in the paint and probably trying to put the ball back up for the basket.

I see the 3 second call quite often in college basketball. They just do not make the call on a player with a single foot in the lane. They seem to call it when a player is really camping in the lane. It is called more often than many of us realize.

Peace

If you read my description of the play, you'll see that he was not trying to put the ball back up. He had lowered the ball below his waist in an attempt to keep control. There was no impending try. This is about the only time that I will call 3-seconds.

Oh yeah, my fault you are correct. Still kind of early and I am just starting on the coffee!

I believe a T.O. was called on that play but the game announcer made for the confusion by calling it a three second violation.

I didn't think so. I thought it was a violation followed by a media TO. I could be wrong tho. I wasn't paying THAT close attention.
