Question

Can anyone tell me where to find if the coaching box color needs to contrast the boundary line color???

Thanks for nothing

You're so helpful. I'm reviewing rule 1, and I don't see anything that specifies it. I don't know if that means I'm missing it, or it's not specified so it doesn't matter. I thought this was a helpful forum.

Get if you like but it's right there in Rule 1 under TEAM BENCH LOCATIONS, COACHING BOX, BENCH AREA. It's not difficult to find. Took me about 30 seconds.

It used to be that some lines have to be diffreent colors. Dont think you can find anything that states that anymore.

Unless youre taking somesort of test dont worry about line color. If they are there you're lucky since a lot of schools did not have the coaches box paited at all

REAALLLLY??????

Well, maybe I'm an idiot then. I have read that section (NFHS) that you referred to, section 1-13. There is no mention of color, unless I'm way mistaken.

Wow, you sure are sensitive.

Once upon a time, 1-13-2 read, "These lines shall be located off the court, be 2 inches wide, and of a color contrasting with the boundary lines." It 2004, the rule was changed. 1-13-2 now reads, "These lines shall be located off the court, be 2 inches wide."

So if you'll read 1-13, you won't see a requirement for a contrasting color. That means it's not required any longer.

I sure hope that helps and I hope you're feeling better soon.

Since it's not in this year's book, I'll direct you to page 2 of last season's Rules Book.

2004-2005 NFHS Basketball Rules Book on page 2 has:
"2004-05 NFHS Basketball Rules Changes

1-5-2
1-13-2
Deleted the requirement for contrasting colored lines for the lane spaces/neutral zone with the lane boundary lines and the coach-ing box line with the boundary lines."

How's that for ya?
